Innov8 Community Hub is a project of the Filipino Settlement Coordinating Council of South Australia (FSCCSA) supported by the Department of Premier and Cabinet comprised of 2 programs, Career Support Services in partnership with Community Corporate Pty. Ltd. and Intergenerational Community Cultural Reconnect in collaboration with Multicultural Aged Care.

Mercury Cinema Film Screening
On Sunday 8 March 17 Filipino community members 65+ along with family members, friends and colleagues got together at the Mercury Cinema for a screening of ‘Mrs. Lowry and Son’ a biographical drama film set in Pendlebury Greater Manchester, chronicling the life of the renowned British artist Lawrence Stephen Lowry.

Directed by Adrian Noble from a screenplay and original play by Martyn Hesford, the film depicts the relationship between Lowry and his overbearing mother Elizabeth who has reservations over her son’s career in painting. Starring Vanessa Redgrave as Elizabeth and Cannes Film Festival Awardee for Best Actor Timothy Spall as L. W. Lowry, this historical drama premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 30 June 2019.

Community Wellbeing Workshop
The Innov8 Community Wellbeing Workshop led by @Robyn Lee on Tuesday 18 February was a great way to share some unique holistic health tips and insights for individual and community wellbeing. The 30 wonderful participants collaboratively came up with this Community Wellbeing Guide. Thanks to Robyn, Maria Johns and to everyone who came along. The surprise dragon dance was very entertaining too.
Carols by Candelight

27 lovely members of the SA Filipino community together with family members, friends and colleagues came along to celebrate Carols By Candlelight.
WHAT: Carols by Candlelight is an annual Australian Christmas tradition that started in southeastern Australia in the 19th century and has gained popularity since 1938. The tradition has since spread around the world and involves people gathering outdoors in a park to sing carols by candlelight. Today the event features live performances by both national and international celebrities accompanied by a symphony orchestra. In South Australia the event has been held in Adelaide’s Elder Park since 1944 and is the second oldest in Australia. This year will be its 75th year.
